Natural Geometries

Project Statement (2013)
When looking at nature at a close vantage point I am often struck by the simple elegance with which natural forms seem to effortlessly arrange themselves in relationship to each other. I am also surprised how much they remind me of structures and forms present elsewhere on a much larger scale: in aerial views of bustling highway interchanges, in maps of unfamiliar worlds, or in star charts of imagined constellations. I found this all to be true with these frozen grasses in a field in rural Maine.
